When our daughter was born, my husband and I were constantly trying to find places to eat out. We looked for a venue that had both healthy food and a welcoming atmosphere for kids which was extremely hard to find. Our pre-children haunts were simply out of the question! During my second maternity leave with my son, the problem was still unresolved. As we couldn't find the perfect place to go, I decided to create one myself! I'm excited to have a number of people on board, who have helped Babyeats become the place it is today.

Born in the UK I had a fortunate upbringing in a very large family. With a passionate mother I learned about food the natural way! All six siblings enthusiastically helped to grow and tender to fruit trees, vegetable gardens and even the chicken coops! Thankfully my parents couldn' t afford 'ready-made' meals or take-out food so we were given the scrumptious delights afforded to us from nature! I believe this early exposure to healthy foods has stood me in good stead for a life long passion for healthy wholesome living. As a mother of two glorious children, I truly hope that Babyeats will help lots of other children experience the delights of tasty wholesome food with the added bonus of natural creative play!!! I have been a designer and art director in the film industry for the past 15 years but more importantly a dad for the past 5 years. The most rewarding job anyone could wish for. I loved the opportunity to design a store that catered to parents and children in equal measure and wanted to create a place that I would want to visit myself. I hope that when you and your children visit Babyeats you all feel secure, un-hurried and happy having fun together.

Birgitta's interest in nutrition and healthy living began when she moved to Victoria, BC from Sweden in the 70's and got involved in the Natural Food Industry. She started by making granola for a new local whole food store. That was the beginning of a passion for good healthy food. With the birth of her daughter, nutrition became even more important. Through her studies in nutrition counseling and teaching cooking classes, she was able to share her gifts and talents with many people. It was very important to her that people were given the knowledge and principles of a healthy diet so they could understand and choose a more organic and holistic lifestyle. We are eternally grateful for the opportune Google search that first connected us with Birgitta!!

Betsey has 5 years of experience in this area but you'd swear it was a lifetimes! Cut of the cloth and color make all the difference when you dress up fancy! Never shy at leading the catwalk or taking the stage Betsey will imagine herself in any role and is always keen to make some new friends and constantly ready to give an opinion! Her most memorable sayings at mealtimes are "I can't eat this, its too tasty!" and "Mommy, did you know that juice comes from the juicing cow!"
Executive Toy Tester
Specialist in Construction Testing!!
Will has 3 years experience in this role and is developing his skills rapidly. Each toy will be carefully examined for any new way its parts may be put together. Nuts, bolts, screws are no obstacle for his deft hands. Away from the work area Will has amassed a great collection of cars to rival Jay Leno or Jerry Seinfeld. He looks forward to the days when he can actually fit in the cars and drive them.
