GMO stands for "Genetically Modified" and unfortunately approximately 76 percent of last year's American soybean crop was GM, as well as 32 percent of corn, for example. Soybean and corn products are ubiquitous on grocery-store shelves, present in everything from Pop-Tarts to veggie burgers to Campbell's Tomato Soup. The European Union has placed a moratorium on the import of GM foods. Babyeats goes further! We have been conscious of GMO foods from day one and are now proud to announce that babyeats has teamed with a select few restaurants and GE-Free Solutions to be part of their Food Service Pilot Program to raise awareness of the potential dangers in our everyday foods and commit to offering food that is not genetically modified.
There is a growing body of evidence from independent scientists that points to major health risks associated with eating GE foods, and serious implications for our food security and the environment from the widespread cultivation of GE crops. There have been thousands of reported cases of poisoning, including over 100 deaths, and allergic reactions from humans eating or handling GE crops (Smith, 2007).
Nigel Tunnicliffe, CEO of GE-Free Solutions says "we all have the right to know what's in our food."

Jam sessions start on Tuesday May 5th at 3.30pm sharp!
Last session is on Tuesday June 23rd at 3.30pm sharp!
Cost Babyeats members $75 for eight classes
Non-members $85 for eight classes
Space is limited so please register early either in store or by phone!
Here’s the boring grown-up bit!
These ‘Jam Sessions’ are intergrated explorations of music, singing and movement for kids. This is an 8-week program with a weekly theme integrating each discipline, for example: loud and soft for music, high and low for singing, and heavy and light for movement. Each 45 minute session is divided into three blocks of 15 minutes each, so it's just about the right length of time for a small person, from about 2 1/2 to 6.
So who’s teaching the class?
Donya Metzger is a music educator, choral director, and performer with 20 years of dance education including a BFA Dance from SFU, nearly a decade of experience teaching voice, 2 years' worth of directing community choirs, and almost 20 years' worth of performance experience. You can learn more about Donya at www.donyametzger.com.
She says “I have an infectious love of music, singing and dancing, and believe those things are important and should be accessible for everyone, especially little people!”
Are you interested in cloth diapers but don't know where to start? Come and join Karen from New & Green Baby Co. at Baby Eats in North Vancouver for an interactive workshop all about cloth diapers.
